Should I choose encode or decode?
Encode turns readable text into another representation. Decode reads that representation back. Choose the direction that matches the text you already have.
Is encoding the same as encryption?
No. Base64, URL encoding and similar formats are reversible representations. Hash tools produce a digest rather than an encrypted copy.
Does decoding a JWT verify it?
No. This tool reads the token's header and payload. It does not verify the signature or confirm that the token is trustworthy.
