Good to know
Should I choose encode or decode?
Encode turns readable text into another representation. Decode reads that representation back. Choose the direction that matches the text you already have.
Is encoding the same as encryption?
No. Base64, URL encoding and similar formats are reversible representations. Hash tools produce a digest rather than an encrypted copy.
Why is the output different from another tool?
Spaces, line endings, capitalisation and character encoding can affect the result. Compare the exact input and selected settings.
